Jackson, Miss – The Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) is seeking nominations for the 2016 Governor’s Arts Awards. The awards, presented annually by MAC, recognize organizations and individuals whose work on behalf of the arts has significantly contributed to the growth and development of the rich cultural heritage of Mississippi. The general public is encouraged to nominate an artist or arts organization deserving of this honor. A complete list of previous winners is available on the agency’s website at www.arts.ms.gov.
A panel of judges representing all aspects of the arts will select the recipients from the submitted nominations. The winners will be announced later this year and the awards will be presented at the annual public ceremony to be held in February 2016.
