Jackson, Miss—The Mississippi Arts Commission will host its annual grant panels April 15-17 and 20-24 in Jackson. Open to the public, the panels will begin between 8:30am and 9:00am each day at the Commission’s office on the 11th floor or in Room 145 on the first floor of the Woolfolk State Office Building at 501 North West Street. Panelists will meet to evaluate applications from individual artists and arts organizations based on the criteria listed in each of the Commission’s program areas.
The Commission will notify applicants of their funding and approval decisions via email by July 1, 2015. After that time, grantees can request a copy of their panel comments.
The Mississippi Arts Commission is a state agency, funded by the Mississippi Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Mississippi Endowment for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson and other private sources. MAC is the official grants-making and service agency for the arts in Mississippi. The agency serves as an active supporter and promoter of arts in community life and in arts education.
